Link Storm - In which we talk Japan, being a nerd and dreams

I find Japan really interesting, Japan Today and RocketNews 24 are sites I have recently been reading quite a lot. I also found this article about death by overwork in Japan, and there has been the video of a guy who moved to Japan to become a salary man in Japan which went viral - he documents one week where he works 78 hours and sleeps 35. The Song of the Salaryman is a sweet song by ED Won which  reminds me of Kings of Convenience  - sweet and light and poppy and electronic.

While we are in the nerd category, I also found the website for the Science Fiction Book Club which I am pretty sure my Dad signed me up for as a little kid - I was really into Terry Pratchett books and used to get a new one every month. I remember they also had the Robin Hobb Farseer books which were your classic fantasy novels - I am semi interested in joining as I want some new escapist dumb fantasy novels to read again and am not really interested in Game of Thrones myself.

A Record of Nightly Dreams is a now defunct blog where a young guy was keeping a dream diary for a while - pretty cool to read through, I think dreams are so interesting and I myself get some pretty vivid dreams so its fun to read someone else's.

This week

Some things I have been loving this week:

I really want to go on this course about learning to be a better blogger, or alternately take the online class. I have also been enjoying listening to Public Enemy and photoshopping aggressively - always a good combo. Trance and coding is quite fun too.

I've been getting a lot from this ebook about time management for creatives. Entertainment wise I have been watching 'The other woman' which is surprisingly clever and funny, and reading 'The Help' which I couldn't put down. It reminds me a lot of 'The Ya Ya Sisterhood' and to a degree 'The Colour Purple' but a lot less dark and depressing.

My favorite website of the week has been TV Tropes, and I have been especially loving their page on dystopian settings for horror.
